“The dog was dozing under the table, but he got up when he heard the door open.”
“I dozed off during the movie and missed the end.”
Dozing is a light or short sleep. It is usually a verb, but it can be a noun, too: “I’ll have a doze.”
「犬がテーブルの下で寝ていたが、ドアが開く音を聞いて起き上がった。」
「映画の途中で寝てしまって最後を見逃がした。」
Dozeとは軽いもしくは短い眠りです。普段は動詞として使いますが、名詞としても使えます：「ちょっと昼寝しようか。」
